AI Chest X-Ray Tool Shows Promise in Early Lung Cancer Detection

A Case Series From a Multicentric Study: Can Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Enabled Chest X-Ray Assist in the Incidental Detection of Early-Stage Lung Cancers?

Cureus, 2026

Abstract

Introduction: This study investigates the potential of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled chest X-ray systems to assist in the incidental detection of early-stage lung cancers.

Methods: A multicentric case series analysis was conducted to evaluate the performance of AI technology in identifying early-stage lung cancers through chest X-ray imaging.

Results: The AI-enabled system demonstrated capability in assisting with the detection of early-stage lung cancers, showing potential as a screening and diagnostic aid in clinical settings.

Conclusion: AI-enabled chest X-ray technology shows promise in assisting with the incidental detection of early-stage lung cancers, potentially improving early diagnosis and patient outcomes.
